Empowering Through Menstrual Awareness: Evergreen Foundation Partners in Menstrual Awareness Run

On 23rd August 2026, Evergreen Foundation, in partnership with Holistic FC and other partners, participated in a Menstrual Awareness Run aimed at promoting menstrual health, dignity, and empowerment within our communities.

The event brought together young people and community members for an engaging day of physical activity, learning, and meaningful conversations around menstrual health and hygiene.

Turning Awareness into Practical Skills

A key highlight of the event was a practical skills session on making reusable sanitary pads. Participants were guided through the process of making reusable menstrual products using accessible materials.

This session went beyond awareness by equipping participants with practical skills that can contribute to affordable and sustainable menstrual hygiene management. Reusable sanitary pads can provide an alternative for individuals and families who face challenges accessing disposable menstrual products.

Breaking the Silence Around Menstruation

The event also provided an opportunity to openly discuss menstrual awareness and hygiene.

Participants were sensitized on proper menstrual hygiene practices, the importance of having access to safe and appropriate menstrual products, and the need to challenge stigma and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.

At Evergreen Foundation, we believe that menstruation should never be a barrier to education, participation, health, dignity, or opportunity.

Partnership for Community Impact

Our partnership with Holistic FC and other stakeholders demonstrates the importance of bringing different actors together to address challenges affecting communities.

Through initiatives such as the Menstrual Awareness Run, we continue to create spaces where young people can learn, participate, share knowledge, and become advocates for positive change.

We are grateful to Holistic FC, our partners, facilitators, participants, and everyone who contributed to making the event meaningful and impactful.

Continuing the Conversation

Menstrual health is not simply a women’s issue—it is a community issue that requires collective understanding, support, and action.

Evergreen Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote menstrual health, youth empowerment, gender equality, and community well-being.

Together, we can build communities where every girl and woman can manage her menstrual health with dignity, confidence, and without stigma.
